Dr Ven Samarasinghe is a consultant dermatologist and dermatological surgeon. 

Skin cancer lead for dermatology at St George’s Hospital

After completing his medical training at The University Of Manchester in 2002, Dr Samarasinghe has gone onto specialise in skin cancer and skin surgery, and is the skin cancer lead for dermatology at St George’s Hospital.

Experience

After completing his four year dermatology training programme in 2012, he underwent a further one year fellowship in Mohs micrographic surgery for skin cancer.

Why this particular specialism?

Skin cancer rates continue to increase in the UK. If skin cancers are diagnosed early, they can be cured. Further specialising in Mohs micrographic surgery has allowed precise treatment of basal cell carcinoma, the most common skin cancer, with high cure rates.
