Dr Edin Lakasing


Dr Edin Lakasing is the Council Member for the Section of General Practice with Primary Healthcare, at the Royal Society of Medicine (RSM). Edin is also a busy General Practitioner at Chorleywood Medical Centre, Chorleywood, Hertfordshire since 1997, and where he is now a partner along with Professor Russell Wynn Jones.


Edin qualified in medicine from the University of Dundee. He is a GP Trainer on the Watford Vocational Training Scheme, and undergraduate Tutor to University College, Imperial College and Kings College Medical Schools. He has published numerous papers, mainly on clinical medicine, medical and nursing education, service development and social factors in healthcare. His interest in interprofessional working is reflected in many of these papers being joint collaborations with, amongst others, GP and Consultant colleagues, practice and district nurses, and complementary practitioners. A Fellow of the Royal Society of Medicine since 1996, he was elected onto the Council of the Section of General Practice in 2009. In 2011 he became a Fellow of the Royal College of General Practitioners.
