Will doctors ever be replaced by expert online medical content?

Thomas Lee, who calls himself a 'physician entrepreneur and consultant'  wonders whether doctors might soon find themselves struggling like the newspapers in the face of what he calls the 'great commodification of content'. In a piece he wrote for ihealthbeat.org he suggests that medicine is essentially a content driven profession and as more and more medical information becomes freely available on the web doctors are in danger of being 'replaced'. Worth a read.
