Dr Penny Hibberd RGN, RMN, DN

Dr Penny Hibberd is an experienced RN, RMN, DN she trained at the Royal London Hospital London and studied for her PhD at Northumbria University. She has extensive community nurse experience and has worked as a specialist dementia care nurse for the last eleven years.
As well as her clinical expertise Dr Hibberd has experience and leadership skills in the design, validation and delivery of a range of Higher Education dementia care courses and programmes, the design and delivery of bespoke dementia care training to meet customer needs in health, social care and the independent sector, bid writing, project management within health, social care, independent sector and business. Recent successfully completed projects include dementia care technology, workforce development, dementia and spirituality and dementia awareness across a strategic area.
She has a range of publications and has presented at a national and international level. Her research interests are dementia care, carers, and relational approaches to care. She has doctoral experience of using appreciative inquiry as a qualitative research methodology.
