I am a face of Lung Cancer: New awareness campaign launched

A new campaign has been launched by a lung cancer sufferer to raise awareness of the true facts and figures behind lung cancer. Lyn Barrington, diagnosed with non-small cell lung cancer nine months ago, never smoked and was only 49 when diagnosed.

Lyn is the ‘face of Lung Cancer’ with a profile picture showing her six-months further to diagnosis. The image shows that to look at her you would not even realise anything was wrong and she is hoping that this will give hope to others diagnosed with lung cancer that they can fight it.

As I am a face of Lung Cancer states “…many of the stats are out of date and can be quite frightening for someone newly diagnosed to read.” The group aims to publish new research and treatment options for lung cancer to raise hope and raise awareness, particularly amongst non-smokers who make up approximately 60% of all people diagnosed.
